First Look: Hot Wheels Retro Entertainment Ferrari 365 GTS4 Daytona...

Time is not something I have today, but this surely a model to get out and show off.

After only two previous versions, in the Ferrari Racers series and as a Valentine's Day exclusive, the Ferrari 365 GTS4 Daytona Spyder finally gets its due.  And it is a stunner.

And just a bit of irony with this Miami Vice car.  The black "Daytona Spyder" used in Miami Vice was actually a modified Corvette posing as a Ferrari.  When Ferrari got word they had a conniption fit and the producers were forced to give Crockett & Tubbs another sensible detective fleet car, a Ferrari Testarossa.  Well Hot Wheels has turned the tables, first releasing the white Testarossa, but the wrong Testarossa, the 512M.  Now they release what was in real life not a Ferrari, but this time a real Ferrari casting.  All is right when things are balanced.  Thanks Hot Wheels for the feng shui.

I am at peace.

(Find the Daytona Spyder and other Retro Entertainment at Wheel Collectors, and be sure to mention Lamley for a 10% discount.  Or snag other versions of the Ferrari 365 on ebay.  Whether hardtop or convertible, this is a beautiful model...)

  1. I gotta be on the lookout for this. My Ferrari collection begs for it desperately.

  2. Hot Wheels nailed it with this one. Best of the year in my opinion, it is very well detailed and quite classy looking. I don't have the Racer version yet, its hard to beat red, but the racer wheels don't do it for me. I do have the silver one, and the red interior looks great, but the red windshield kills it. Even with all the great Boulevards this year, I think this beats it. I'd go ahead and declare it the winner if it weren't for the Ferris Bueler California coming out.

  3. I'd have to see this new Miami Vice version up close and personal to give it justice. It does have some awesomeness about it, especially since this car represents a Ferrari, that in real life, has the soul of a Vette' but the skin of an Italian car, from one of the best shows of the 80's!

I do really like the red version with it's grey wheels. There is nothing more authentic than a Ferrari coated in red.
Hopefully, i'll start seeing the new version on the pegs soon because I just might have to add it to my collection.
I'm glad Hot Wheels still keeps up it's devotion to the Ferrari!
