Case Report: Opening a 2016 Hot Wheels International N Case...

Hot Wheels 2016 Batch N at Wheel Collectors
Can you feel it?

With the release of Batch N, we are now only 17 batches away from 2018!  But first things first - we are only 2 batches away from 2017.  New models, new obsessions on Supers are coming, and on and on.  It never stops does it?

But let's stick with Batch N, because this is a good one.  Wheel Collectors got their shipment of Batch N in today, and as always, grabbed a random case and opened it 3-by-3, photographing its contents as they went long.  And yes, all the models are now listed at their store:

There are several reason I am excited about this batch.  See if you can figure out which models.  Hint - they are most likely the models you are most excited about...

Enjoy...

Yeah it starts with that Ford GT.  Fresh off the LeMans win, I am very curious to see how the casting turned out.  And yes, this is also the only time I remember an official New Model was also a Super the same year.  No Super in this case, but keep your eye out for the Ford.

Plenty of great recolors, like the CR-X, McLaren, Shelby, Carrera, and yes, the CSL Bimmer.  On top of that, some nice holdovers like the Miata, Focus, and R34 in case you have trouble getting them in the N Case.  Winner, this case...

  1. Lots of goodies in this one! Batch M is slowly starting to hit the southeast so I'm mainly keeping an eye out on the Focus, Miata, Skyline, Bimmer, etc. As for newcomers, I'm very looking forward to the long-anticipated '17 Ford GT, black '73 Bimmer CSL Race car, the red Shelby GT350, the yellow McLaren P1, and any of the muscle cars! I especially love that lime green Charger 500!

  4. I'm surprised about the blade raider and Carrera gt. The Carrera looks like matchbox

    1. Interestingly it wasn't. The Toyota debuted as a Super, but technically it was not a new model. The casting was set to debut in the Hot Wheels Racing premium range the year before, but the batch was scratched at the last minute. The casting was finished and already scheduled for the 2013 Basic assortment as a Super. Remember the Super had a metal base? That is because the had unused metal bases from the premium line that they needed to use. So it was an official New Model. That is why the Ford is the first "official" New Model to debut as a Super.

  9. I was sort of hoping that the new Ford GT would have the red-blue-and-white Ford Racing livery although I'm kind of glad that this release doesn't as I don't think Mattel could do that livery justice on a mainline anymore; best to save that livery for a premium release, although preferably one that hits retail stores and isn't a RLC exclusive.

  10. Why in this case the rat-car is called Ratical Racer and in the M case you profiled before it's called Bad Ratitude? They're both international cases right? Error perhaps?
