The Hot Wheels Garage Premium line is now out at Walmart...

Instagram member @mistapontiac_cohwc caused quite a stir yesterday with this post:

What's this?  The next assortment for Walmart bins?  But Ford Performance was just released!

Well, it is indeed a Walmart exclusive, but it is in the Hot Wheels Premium line, which is a bit different.  This is called Hot Wheels Garage, and is the follow-up to the Stars & Stripes assortment from a couple of months ago.

This set was found at a Colorado Walmart - sans the Mustang - and should be appearing at your local store too.  I don't know if this is a US exclusive, so we will have to see.

It is nice to see a purely muscle set.  I can see myself picking up a few.  So head out there and find them, and save me a Chevelle Wagon...

  2. I find it disapointing that a mainline quality car, carries a price tag greater than a mainline. If the car doesnt have the full tampo treatment( headlights/ taillights sidemarkers at the least ) not to mention not having real riders, then I dont feel that the pricing is justified especailly when they are using castings from 20 years ago on some of the cars as well. Best thing about this set is the card art.

  4. '58 T-Bird!!!!

I can't wait for these, even with the metal bases. Definitely getting a few sets (and extras for some base and wheel swaps).

  6. Why is it these guys continue to put out same old models with nice packages the only thing I'm usually excited for the package of the car so horrible what happened to the different body styles we're all these other cars that have never been made why are they being made why do we have to keep using the same old castings? I will not give them any more money until they start making new castings I'm tired of the same old stuff I'm tired of going to Walmart and Toys R Us and seeing the same crap from last year still there

  11. Surprisingly, I'm seeing a lot of complaints rather than compliments on this series. I don't see what's so wrong with it! Sure, some of the casting choices may be dated, but they're great castings! I honestly think this is one of the best sets they've released this year! Love the muscle and 50s cruisers! The artwork compliments it even more! As a matter of fact, I actually found the entire set today and I adore every one, especially the HEMI Challenger!

  12. Eh, I wish Mattel would bring back the "Hot Wheeels Garage" series as it was in 2011 (even if Ferrari is no longer an option), but I'll at least pick up the 80s Firebird (looks like a metal chassis to me from the photos even if the others only seem to be plastic) if not also the Camaro RS and Corvette.
