Don't call this Mr. Bean's Mini...
So my guess is that if Matchbox ever did a Pontiac Aztek in a tan color, all of us would associate it with Walter White's Aztek. Of course, linking that horror of an auto to Breaking Bad would be the ONLY way Matchbox would do the Aztek. And trust me, they aren't.
Of course they did do the Chrysler 300 this year, and if we ever see one in all black with dark rims, a few of us will link it to Walter White's Aztek replacement. It isn't as iconic as the Aztek, but the black 300 did hide Jesse in one of the craziest Breaking Bad episodes there was (RIP Hank).
But most will probably link the black Chrysler to...a black Chrysler. There are iconic movie cars, and then there are cars that show up in movies. This latest version of the Matchbox Mini Cooper falls in the middle.
On one hand, this light olive green is a great color on the Mini, especially with the black hood. Sporty and definitely a fitting look for the Mini.
On the other hand, a lot of us remember this:
I am guessing we can "officially" call this a coincidence. My guess is Mattel doesn't have the Mr. Bean license, but this car definitely links to that. Just like Mr. White's 300, this is a standard car that happens to be driven by an iconic character. So Matchbox can do these cars any way they want.
So whether a killer Mini, or something that the customizers are undoubtedly casting tiny chairs for, this Mini is most welcome.
Thanks to Mattel for the preview as always, and look for this in 2017 Batch A...
