So far so good.
I was a good boy and went room to room without a wallet so I wouldn't return with that "what have I done?" feeling, but I saw a lot of tempting models to say the least. But there is no way I am leaving the Convention without the exclusive models.
Registered attendees are allowed to buy two each of the Convention models, and I think most of the folks here are maxing out that opportunity. The Thunder Roller is a collector favorite, but the two stars are the Texas Drive 'Em and '67 Camaro.
And last night was a special dinner to honor Hot Wheels Designer Ryu Asada. Ryu gave a fantastic speech about his obsession with cars growing up, including his Honda S2000. So naturally the Dinner Model is the S2K. Attendees were given one with a sticker commemorating the event, plus a chance to buy two more. I had to leave with three.
I am going to open these on Facebook Live soon, and definitely feature them on the blog when I return home. In the meantime, here is what to look for if you are interested.
