1:64 Police Perfection. How did I not know about this one?

Auto Art Dubai Police Bugatti Veyron on eBay
I don't normally post about an eBay purchase but I figured this was worth mentioning in case anyone else is interested.  Maybe it is old news to most of you, but it is new to me.

I love collecting police cars in 1:64, and this Auto Art Bugatti Veyron in Dubai Police livery I could not pass up.  Obviously Dubai's police force is a gold mine for cool licensed police cars (Majorette is on a roll with them), and the Bugatti takes the cake.

There is very little Veyron-wise in 1:64.  There is obviously the Hot Wheels version, now retired and not the best replica to begin with, and maybe a couple of other obscure non-licensed brands.  But Auto Art makes the best one by a mile.  Auto Art is far better known for their large scale diecast, but a few years ago they dipped their toe in the 1:64 world.  I guess it wasn't their thing, because they haven't released anything new in awhile, but they did do the Veyron, and they did it beautifully.

There are three colors of the Auto Art Veyron, released about 10 years ago.  Clearly a Dubai Police version was commissioned, although I have no idea when.  But thankfully it was because this is awesome.  It is an exact replica of the actual Bugatti in the Dubai force.

Maybe these are always available, but in case they are not, here is the seller that has them.  I bought two, and was able to get a slightly better deal through the Buy It Now option.

And you bet I will be showcasing this once it arrives...

  1. Nice model. Autoart 1:64 Veyron is one of the best model in 1:64 scale. But the lack of lightbar is unforgivable in a premium model like this.

    2. I can let matchbox slide as it's not a premium brand

  2. I think it's sweet. Will go good with all the other Dubai Police cars.

You're forgetting one 1/64-ish (a little on the big side) brand, Siku. I have several Bugatti Veyron's from Siku, both hardtop and convertible. The quality seems to be about the mid-point between Hot Wheels and AutoArt, you get rubber tires and opening doors on the Siku Veyrons, though it's got a plastic chassis and the headlights and taillights are just painted on (though many other Siku at the same price point do have separate transparent pieces for the headlights and taillights).

I believe Hot Wheels lost the Bugatti license due to Bugatti changing their diecast licensing stipulations to require the holographic sticker on the packaging, which Siku does.
